Practice tests common errors

When I try to run my products in Chrome Silverlight is needed. When I try to install Silverlight the system says the software is already installed.

The latest version of Google Chrome (v.42.0.2311.90 m) does not support Silverlight. On April 30, 2015, all of our users will be upgraded to our New Platform, which does not use Silverlight. Until this date please access your account using another browser so that you can launch the application.


The following four practice tests may only be used in Chrome because they contain simulation questions:


* CompTIA 220-802 A+

* 100-101 Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices (ICND1)

* 200-101 Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 2 (ICND2)

* 200-120 Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)


To use these tests prior to April 30, 2015, you must install an older version of Google Chrome. Please see the article How to install a previous version of Chrome for detailed information.


I'm receiving Error: Mismatch 13.

In order for tests to display correctly, your computer's regional settings should be set to English (United States).

In the control panel, please double click on the icon labeled Regional Settings. Please choose English (United States), and click the box that says "use default properties for this input locale."

Alternatively, in the regional settings, look at the Currency tab. If it is set the decimal symbol to . (dot) instead of , (coma), that may be enough to get it working properly.

If the trouble persists, try setting the keyboard language layout to English (United States). In the control panel, double click on the icon labeled "Keyboard". Then click on the tab labeled input locales. Select the Add button. And then choose English (United States) as the input locale.


I'm receiving a LocalAT 9 error or a Test Record Retrieve error.

This is caused by a corrupt test file. This test file needs to be deleted and re-created. Follow the steps below to delete the file:

1) Click Start, then click My Computer.

2) Navigate to the C:\Program Files\Certification Preparation\Tests folder.

3) Delete any .tst files

4) You may also need to navigate to the \TstRecs\UserName folder and search for .tst files there as well.

5) Restart the application.


I'm receiving Error: [MsLocalWare] [339] or similar.

This error usually occurs with Microsoft Vista.


I'm receiving Error: Unable to Connect Due to Protocol Driver Error

Fixing the "Component 'HotArea.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correcting registered" Error on the Download Engine.

1) When setup is complete, return to the Desktop and click Computer.

2) Select C:\Program Files (x86).

3) Select the Certification Preparation Folder.

4) Right-click on the Localware.exe file and select Properties from the pop-up menu.

5) Select the Compatibility tab.

6) Click the "Run as Administrator" checkbox.

7) To start the software, click Start. From All Programs, point to MeasureUp Practice tests, and click Launch.

8) On the Logon Screen, click Create New User Profile.

9) Complete your information and click Create Profile.

10) On the Logon screen, verify the Username and Password fields are filled in, and click OK.

11) Select the practice test and click Start Test.
